The Spirit Punch (精神パンチ) is a simple technique in which the user coats their fist(s) with energy to strengthen their punches.
History[]
Yusuke released a powerful energy due to a fit of rage after seeing Kuwabara being tortured by Rando. When Yusuke attacked him with a punch, he accidentally released a bolt of energy through his fist. Yusuke later perfected this skill and can invoke it voluntarily in order to unleash more powerful punches.
First time the technique is used.
Usage[]
The technique itself is easy enough to be manifested. The user must first concentrate their energy in one or both hands, then stabilize the energy, and then attack with punches.
Form[]
After stabilizing the energy, the user forms a spiritual aura around the hand which is more orb-like the more control they have over their power. The more energy one concentrates, the denser the field is around their fist. After the blow is struck, it seems to form as if a comet was colliding with its target.
Effect and Power[]
Yusuke easily crosses a yokai spider, using the Spirit Punch.
Forming the technique, the user creates a field of Spirit Energy that covers the fist. Thus, the punches inflicted while being covered in said field become more powerful. Although theoretically offensive, the resistance of the field can possibly be used as a shield, serving to defend against projectiles and physical attacks. After Yusuke's second training session with Genkai, he uses the technique less and less due to the force of his punches becoming several times greater even without it, allowing him to rely less on his spiritual energy in combat.
