Shinji's Grandfather was an old man who, along with his grandson, saved a Tanuki when he was younger.
Appearance[]
Shinji's Grandfather was a short old man with a bald head. He wore a traditional Japanese robe, perhaps showing his age.
Personality[]
Before his grandson's death, he seemed to be a nice old man who cared about animals, saving a Tanuki from a trap out of the goodness of his heart. However, after his grandson's death, he becomes very grumpy, being a shut-in who does not trust anyone after a bunch of distant relatives tried to get his inheritance. He still loves Shinji dearly, though, which is shown when he gladly spends his final days with a Tanuki who he knows is not really Shinji.
