Mr. Yukimura (雪村 さん, Yukimura-san) is a chef/restaurateur and owner of the Yukimura Diner. He is the father of Keiko.

Description[]

Mr. Yukimura is the owner and operator of a restaurant and he is seen in a chef's hat and uniform during the little time he is seen in the manga and anime. He has black hair and he is a little short tempered. He also has a funny side, specially if it's related to silly pranks on his daughter.

History[]

Spirit Detective Saga[]

YYU-EP2-046

Mr. Yukimura upset with Kuwabara (Yusuke posessing him).

Mr. Yukimura does not have much of a part in the series (except for cameo at the very beginning of the story and later on at the beginning of the Three Kings Saga). He owns a restaurant and his family, Keiko included, live on the second floor. It should be noted, however, that he is shown to be supportive of Keiko and Yusuke's relationship and approves of Yusuke. In the anime, when Yusuke's ghost asks after Keiko while in the guise of Kuwabara, Mr. Yukimura gets defensive of the "deceased" Urameshi and speaks as if he were a member of the family. Subsequently, in a twist of comedic irony, he forcibly removes Yusuke from the diner.

Three Kings Saga[]

Mr Yukimura ep97 (YYH) 4

A smiling Mr. Yukimura with Yusuke.

At the beginning of the Three Kings Saga, Yusuke decides to go the Yukimura's Diner and spend his last day before departing for the Demon World. Yusuke enters, and Mr. Yukimura invites him a free customer meal — prepared by Keiko herself with her father's insistence, and this happens before Yusuke decides to propose to Keiko, to which Mr. Yukimura recalls Yusuke has done so numerous times, to Keiko's annoyance. Then, Yusuke makes her promise that she'll wait for three years, when they'll get married. He says he loves her and then Keiko leaves. Finally, Mr. Yukimura smiles, glad to hear their engagement with a more relaxed Yusuke.

Etymology[]

  • His family name's surname Yukimura means "snow" (雪) (yuki) and "town, village" (村) (mura).
    • The Yukimura surname is occasionally spelled Ukimura instead in some translations.
