Jiro (ジロ, Jiro) is a character who appears only in the manga version of the first part of the Spirit Detective Saga and is omitted from the anime.
Appearance[]
Jiro was a fairly big Akita Inu dog, and looks quite weak shortly before his death, but returns to his prime right before ascending to the Spirit World.
Personality[]
Jiro is a very loyal dog, wishing for Shouta's happiness even after his own death.
Synopsis[]
Spirit Detective Saga[]
During his time as a ghost, Yusuke Urameshi encounters Jiro, a dog whose owner is a kid named Shouta. He really cares about his owner Shouta. However, he is an elderly dog who died of natural causes. When he died, he continued to linger around Shouta's house out of worry about what Shouta would do without him. With Yusuke Urameshi's help, they successfully help get Shouta to move forward, get past Jiro's death and become a stronger person. This makes Jiro feel content as he passes on to heaven.
