The Eye Bat was the first demon encountered by Yusuke and company during their infiltration of the Saint Beasts' castle.
Appearance[]
The Eye Bat has one huge eye as the main part of its body, and two thin bat wings, as well as tentacles. The color of the eye is golden yellow, and has a large black pupil.
Personality[]
It generally has a squeaky voice and a thirst for betrayal and revenge.
Synopsis[]
Spirit Detective Saga[]
The Eye Bat appeared before the newly formed Team Urameshi and welcomed them to Maze Castle; specifically the Gate of Betrayal. It pulled a lever on the wall opposite to where the quartet had entered thus triggering a collapsing ceiling that threatened to crush the group. The bat delighted in Team Urameshi's suffering and tried to tempt one of them into saving themselves thus dooming the others. Hiei was sent by Yusuke himself to go and reset the lever, but the former seemingly hesitated when the bat offered to make him a general for the Saint Beasts' army in order to make their takeover of Living World run smoother. Hiei proceeded to nearly bisect the familiar upon his realizing that a large boulder would have killed anybody who went through with flipping the lever, leaving the Eye Bat to flutter off to inform his masters of the intruders now within their castle. Whether or not it survived the destruction of Maze Castle is unknown.

- In the Blu-ray rerelease, a filter was added to the bat's voice which made it sound more mechanical.
- In Episode 41 of Hunter x Hunter (2011), Neon Nostrade is shown carrying a keychain figurine of Pu and the Eye Bat.
