The Beginning of the End is the twenty-ninth episode of season 2 of YuYu Hakusho. It aired on October 30, 1993 in Japan and May 16, 2003 in the United States.
The tournament finals are set to begin. But the rules state that each team must have five members to compete. With each team having only four fighters, two competitors step up to join with each team no matter what the consequences. Who are the two new fighters and what could they possibly bring to the team?

In the case of Team Urameshi, they didn't have a sixth member of their team. They had to make do with Koenma; however, this gave Team Toguro a free point as Koenma would forfeit.
Sakyo is only there to allow his team to participate; he doesn't intend to fight. It isn't explicitly stated if Team Toguro ever had an official fifth fighter, but given the virtual silence on the subject and lack of evidence to the contrary, it does not seem likely.
