Synopsis[]

Spirit Detective Saga[]

Akashi is shown with Iwamoto insulting Yusuke at his own funeral, being lectured by Takenaka for it shortly after.

Shortly after Yusuke's death, he tells Kuwabara to not fight for a week or risk expulsion, while also having Kuwabara's entire class take a science exam at the same time, or Kuwabara's friend, Okubo, would be fired from his part-time job. Knowing that Kuwabara's lack of study would ensure his victory, he presumably hires delinquents to goad Kuwabara into fighting, though these attempts are unsuccessful due to Yusuke's intervention. When he grades the exams, Akashi is shocked to discover that Kuwabara actually passed, fearing that he would have to honor the deal he made him. Iwamoto, seeing his problem, tells him to erase one of the correct answers and pretending as if it was never there, which would cause Kuwabara to fail.

The following day, Akashi taunts Kuwabara over his failing score, though Kuwabara quickly realizes that he had erased one of his answers in the exam. He knocks Akashi down and prepares to punch him, but relents at the last moment when Yusuke tells him to. Takenaka soon arrives and Akashi tries to feign ignorance, claiming that Kuwabara tried to beat him up, but Takenaka, having overheard their plot, angrily tells Akashi that he would have beaten him up too if he knew that his answer sheet had been corrupted. Grabbing him by the collar, Takenaka scolded Akashi for his lack of honor and ordered him to restore his original score, which he quickly agreed to. Akashi is not seen afterwards, implying that he was fired from his position.
